Meet
OCIELIA

A Former Miss Black USA, National Speaker, and Author, Ocielia Gibson Sprowl has over 15 years of compelling speaking, community outreach, and coaching experience that gives her a unique gift to not only inspire women and girls from all walks of life but plant transformative seeds wherever she goes. Being a women's minister and former beauty queen, her unique approach introduces women and girls to a redeemed view of beauty rather than the incomplete view of what's in the mirror. And, that they can discover their identity outside of culture's standards - for once they realize the truth who they are, self-esteem is not a struggle.

She is Founder of More Than a Pretty Face International®, a life-enrichment company she initially founded as an outreach to girls in under-served communities. Now with international reach, More Than a Pretty Face has helped women and girls flourish throughout the US and Kenya. Ocielia's work has been recognized with her receiving Pine-Sol's Women Making a Powerful Difference Award, NAUEP's 2022 Etiquette Consultant of the Year, and being the youngest woman recognized as an Unsung Hero for her programming by EBONY Magazine.

In 2011, Ocielia became the first woman from the state of Texas to be crowned Miss Black USA. As Miss Black USA, she utilized her platform to be a spokesperson for issues disproportionately affecting teen girls and the African-American community. Her experience as Miss Black USA led her to author her first book, More Than Pretty, (published by LifeWay) which has been shared with girls around the world, helping them begin the process of purposeful living and confidence development.
